Transmogrification

018

Cezanne visited the Bucktail Thursday afternoon.  The boat trailer had just completed a custom fitting, and was headed back to the trailer shop for some bunk mods.  Exciting times there at Lee Shore, as they’d just sold their fifth 30’x10’ landing craft for immediate construction, not that they needed more incentive to finish off the 26 footer.  Rigging is proceeding at a rapid pace.

Check this!  Windows in place.  See the starboard windshield wiper?  That’s the forward door partially open.  It swings, the aft door slides.  Either can be secured open for ventilation on hot summer days – ha, ha.

Here’s the foredeck.  Bow roller not visible, but just above cleat.  Anchor well and deck space, roughed up for foot traction.  Fold down storage hatch (with helpful eyebrow rain diverter) for secure storage of secret stuff.  Steps in the corners.

Putting the spartan interior together.  Throttles, two pedestal seats, a compass, 12v power source, laptop mount – and not a lot more – remain to be rigged.

009

Port side, aft is to be the diesel stove location.  Sliding rear door is visible.

View of the sliding aft door, from astern.  Note the drainage downspout/grab rail in the upper left.

Two Honda Civics hanging off the transom.  Eric will be testing various prop pitches in the water before he finalizes the order for the Honda stainless screws.

Transmogrification phase almost complete.  Seatrials coming up!
